Some overclockers are already hitting 2000MHz using DDR3 so it would have been nice if the reviewer could have managed ~ 1800MHz to compare against DDR2

Should it be 1Gbit or 2 Gbit chip instead of Mbit?

"The benchmark built into WinRAR archiving tool gives DDR3 SDRAM a break. Here we can finally see the advantages of increased DDR3-1333 SDRAM bandwidth. However, there are no real applications that would react the same way to increased bandwidth."

I thought Winrar was a real application? I guess I better stop using it as it must not be doing anything and go back to real applications like video games.

I think it is strange that overclocked 1.425MHz DD3 result is lower than 1.333MHz DDR3 result. May be Mainboard teawks can improve in future BIOS revisions. Or can it be the worse timnings?

on pg 2, the latency range table shows date value (5-Mar, 10-Jun); must be an Excel mistake! ;)

"...and 2W less power in idle mode."
I see inversely in graphs, don't you?

WOW. I am looking to purchase a new mobo and this article definitely helped me...I will buy ddr2 motherboard and wait a few years to upgrade again....I just cant justify buying ddr3 at this time with what Ive just read

I will be more interest to see if the test using AMD CPU if there's one avaible. I suspect the Intel micro hits the limit of processing power.

Cheers

This article rocks! I have been looking for a new laptop and I was thinking about buying the Sony Z when it comes out in August. I thought the DDR3 RAM was going to be great, but now, thanks to the article, I realize the extra expense would have been a waste of money. Since I rarely use my laptop in battery mode, the real benefit of DDR3 would be lost on me.

Thanks for saving me some money!
