Don't be too quick to judge these 300mhz processor/linux computers as "too slow" to compete. I've been using windows ce/windows mobile pdas for some time and their slow processors prove even faster than the full-blown windows xp systems in many ways. How can this be? Simply because the system is built into the processing chip and the applications are stripped-down to the point that they have no need for fast processors. For many purposes, I have no need for my fast 'big boy' laptop which proves too slow for jotting down notes, sending spontaneous email or any other task which demands turning the computer on when in the 'off' state. Don't write the 'little guys' off just yet.
