a glas-pressed blu-ray disk will cost by that time far less then 50 cents.
a 64GB flashdrive (to fit the movie on) will in 4 years still cost 10 euro's at least.

These guys are idiots.. The same rumors circulated about memory cards when CDs were around (mind you flash media is considerably cheaper now). It'll basically ALWAYS be cheaper, faster AND easier to create media out of plastic (or equivalent) and a dye versus say, a manufactured piece of silicon. Consumers aren't going to want to pay a higher premium for silicon-based movies unless it's their own card which they can rewrite countless times to.

Anyways, that's my 100,000 cents....

Is this "scientist" or "mad scientist"?! Its funny how some people think that when scientist says something it has to be true. This is one of the examples which proves that scientists are cheap and everyone can buy them and make them say anything stupid, even things like this idiot said.

Let see, the price for flash memory is falling 50% each year. If this will be true in the next 6 years then 128GB flash card will cost around $10 as 2 or 4 GB cards cost today. In the same time the 1080p digital TVs will be bought by 100 of millions. What quality content will be watched on them. I think in most cases it will be Blue Ray movies, not regular DVDs because there is a very big difference in quality between them when watching on 1080p screen. So Blue Ray will have at least 5 years to take hold and be in wide use for may be 5 more years after this.

Well, can't u guys notice all the latest BluRay/HD-DVD manufacturer ignoring the THX feature in their new "HD" grade audio products?

Even Denon, a solid THX supporter back to the VHS/LD days, has no integraded receiver featuring THX technologies in there latest "For BluRay/HD-DVD" line.

So that's why THX need to come out to bullshit something~!
