Isn't the 9800GTX just really a 8800GTS (512MB) that is tweaked and with the multi-SLi capabilities?

Nothing radically new I guess, but customers will grab them right away simply because of a number change. For less, the 8800GTS or and overclocked Gt will do fine.

Bloody hell. the 9800 GTX is a shame. I would take a 8800 GTX over it because of similar performance and better memory subsystem (384-bit/768MB vs 256-bit/512MB) allowing for future games to be played better in terms of performance (FPS) at higher settings. to sum up : 8800 GTX is better than a 9800 GTX in the long term.
