"Lower cycle time means that ideas move from design to product to market faster, allowing companies to realize revenue more quickly and react to market demand more effectively. It also allows chip producers to be more flexible between high and low volume orders, which has become critical as different chip products have proliferated."

Is it me or does this paragraph not even apply to AMD let alone anyone who uses their products. LOL. When I read it, I got a chuckle out of it at least.

Too little too late perhaps? I remember AMD closing and selling off one of their Fabs when demand for their chips was at a high which caused them to snub smaller partners for supplies when they finally made inroads with Dell. Phenoms with B3 steppings took too long to come out and while AMD needs to put out 45nm chips NOW that alone would not still be enough. The problem is AMD's management which takes too long to solve problems.
