1. I like my Palit 9600GT...but...nothing can compare to seeing a $89 512mb 3850 a few days ago :D, maybe you should check slickdeals more often.

I think they should have kept the 8800GS as the 8800GS. GS0...and 9600 is stupid as fuck.

2. Nvidia is Lot more confusing than the ATI, They Get the 8000 series in between without any major change they take it to 9000 series same price same performance... Old Wine in New Bottle???
ATI 2900 Is almost Forgotten after that 3000 series launch...

3. These graphics companies have been using confusing model numbers for nearly 20 years now. I don't see things changing any time soon.

4. Some stupid bastardes will buy that "newer, better" cards with higher nuber. That is marketing plan.

5. i think nvidia screwed up when it introduced the G92 GPU in 8800GT. it should be a 9 series gfx card since it uses a new cpu and performs better... i donno wtf were they thinking in doing so but i suspect someone in the marketing dept screwed up...
and ATi's scheme seems to be a lot better. at least it seems to be based on the GPU and performance...
