Should have been compared to some of the best air cooling solution, for example like Thermalright Ultra-120 (among others). This is a bit surprizing while Serguey has already reviewed quite a lot of cooling solutions on XBitlabs.

Another lame gimmick-if you want real water cooling you have to assemble it yourself from quality components and it's not worth the hassle, expense, space requirements, risk of leaks, etc. to me when a $70 air cooler can do almost as good as water cooling.

I disagree that the pump head matters in the case of a closed-loop, pre-built system such as this, in which the pipes are very short anyway. The specifications on the box state that the flow rate is 3.5L/min, which should reflect the pump performance with the water-block and radiator already in the coolant loop. If this figure specifies the flow rate with no back-pressure, on the other hand, then clearly the specification is misleading and should not be quoted in this way.

Of course, accurate or not, the poor performance of the device comes as no surprise here.

These coolers are terrible i will tell you 3 good reasons: 1) cooling range degrades cpu's that is cycling low to high is bad for a cpu and when the load is low these things get cold and when the load is high these babies get hot unless you have a 5000rpm fan 2) condensation, this is an issue if anything goes wrong and you get sub 32f temps and high humidity the system will rot with corrosion, finally #3 the price is so high you can get a good water cooling system. If you need the extra mhz for a 3dmark score get a phase cooler but stay away from these over priced overly complex coolers - bad concept no matter how improved from the first ones!

my review applies to the expensive models!

xbit is 100% on target this is worse then an intel cooler for 10 times the price!

coolit is the worst product ever conceived for cpu cooling - yes on paper its a cool concept - the reality is that they do not work at all.

The $95 model reviewed is terrible at anything, the $300 ones need a 5000 rpm fan to work and can not cool a quad core and the $500 ones you can get a whole water w/ case system for that price and they get too cold at low load.

the cup holder/cooler is even dumb!

i have been writing bad reviews of all coolit products - why? They do not work well and they are way over priced!
