I'm going 5770 too, also because it doesn't require as much energy as the 4870 does. _________________ We never think of us as being one of Them. We are always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things. |

Heh heh, I bashed the 5770 for not being quite as fast as the 4870 in certain games, now everyone is buying the 5770! I agree it is a good card overall, just priced a wee bit high considering you can buy a 4870 for as low as $130 USD right now...that's all. _________________ "All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting." - George Orwell |

5770's consume considerably less energy,so although they generally are a bit more expensive (although for some brands like MSI the 5770's are cheaper), they save me money for the required PSU. Not to mention less heat, less noise, and they can run DX11 for whatever that's worth.. _________________ We never think of us as being one of Them. We are always one of Us. It's a bit of a toss up depending on what you value and the pricing in your market. |

And you will probably be saving up the price difference through the lower power use as long as you dont replace the card in less than several months. _________________ This has been an objective and completely impartial message from the propaganda bureau of DIREWOLF75. IF I do that, it will replace the 3850 in my son's PC, so it will be used for a few years. _________________ We never think of us as being one of Them. We are always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things. |

I preffer more to buy monitors that is 16:10, with DVI connector. Well of course its better if the monitor have higher resolution, if not 1440 x 900 is still ok for me.
So can someone help me to find what monitors have above things ?
PS : 19" or 20" monitors , no more than 20"

About Video Cards :
I would like to get a low power consumption and fast in gaming card.
so theres 2 card in my mind :
MSI 4870 Cyclone and MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OC SP
MSI N260GTX-T2D896-OC SP:
http://www.tweaktown.com/news/12187/msi_shows_off_the_twin_frozr_gpu_cooling_system/index.html
Now both cards prices are almost the same, so i dont know which to buy.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of both cards ?
What i know about GTX 260 is ... uses less power consumption and stable.
What i know about ATI 4870 is ... good gaming quality, vivid, looks real, more hot, use more power.
so which one u guys suggest me to buy ?
Is it better performance if i build I5 + 4870 ? or I5 + GTX 260 ?
Thanks |

From what I googled, 1280x768, but you can check that in your display settings. |

Buy that Gigabyte card, it rocks!! I have a Sapphire HD 4870 512MB card, all I do is manually adjust the fan speed on that card through ATi's Catalyst Control Center , up from stock 22% to 30% for idling/2D/desktop normal usage, it cools the card just fine ( idles at 47C at 30% gpu fan speed ) and is still quieter than my OCZ Vendetta 2 120mm cpu fan that runs at constant 1366 rpm all the time!! So stop worrying about the "heat" issues with 4870, all you do is raise the fan speed a bit manually and all those issues disappear. Card is designed to run hot so you don't hurt it if it peaks a little during gaming. I run the gpu fan speed at 50% ( bit noisier of course but still quite bearable, computer tower is on my desk right beside my ears so its not like I have the tower hidden on the floor with the fans screaming... its right beside me so it has to be reasonably quiet or it would drive me insane otherwise ) during 3D gaming, and the card stays cool at that fan speed and peaks around 69C at full load whilst gaming. ( ambient room temperature 20 to 25C usually, no air conditioning here ). 4870 is a great card, still enjoy mine...faster overall than GTX 260 216 shader model, and the GTX is DX 10.0 while ATi is DX 10.1 ( minor improvement, but still...), AND the HD48xx series has integrated 5.1 channel HDMI audio processor onboard the videocard.. many advantages to the 4870 here, gaming performance being first and foremost... go for it!! _________________ "All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting." - George Orwell |

Yes it is! I recommended the 20" version of this exact monitor to him already in this thread, but seeing as how the 21.5" version is only $10 more I would get this one too... also max. res. goes from 1680x1080 to 1920x1080 ( FULL HD resolution ), that alone is worth another $10 imho...
Great monitor , Great price.
I dunno why he has such a huge bug up his ass for the 16:10 widescreen ratio, it really does not make any difference when compared to 16:9 at all, one must be very picky to even notice the slight difference... I am quite happy with 16:9 ratio, and most computer LCD monitors are still 16:9 ratio in general... just saying... _________________ "All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting." - George Orwell |

It's neither exactly, but closer to 16:10. |
