AMD confirmed yesterday that it is on track with the launch of AMD Athlon 64 processor in September 2003, as the company promised earlier this year. But we still do not know the exact date of the launch, though.

Guys from over AMDZone have found out that AMD had arranged a meeting in The Moscone Center, San Francisco’s premier meeting and exhibition facility, on the 30th of September. Could this be the Athlon 64 launch-date?

Well, maybe the massive event in AMD’s history will happen on the 30th of September, but it may also happen on the 21st of September, three years after the first “complete” version of the x86-64 ABI was released.
