From August to November computer components makers enjoy the great rise in their sales due to the seasonal demand. This year is not an exception: almost all the companies were able to sell a lot of products and some of them even set their new shipments records. Although presently I do not have the sales figures of all the manufacturers, I have found the details of the first-tier mainboard makers and some second-tier companies at this web-site.

Apparently, ASUSTeK Computer sold over 1.6 million of mainboards, 9.6% more than in August, about 90 000 notebooks and nearly 400 000 graphics cards. The total revenue of this biggest computer components manufacturer in Taiwan exceeds $313.30 million, 29% more than in the previous month.

Although pretty weak this year in general, Gigabyte Technology managed to sell nearly 9.8% more mainboards in September, compared to August. According to the sources, the company sold from 1.1 to 1.15 million of mainboards in September. Unfortunately, there is no information about their revenue, however, different market analysts now predict that Gigabyte may enjoy even better sales this month.

Despite of being one of the largest OEM manufacturer for Dell and other big personal computer vendors, Micro-Star International (MSI) earned only $145.43 million due to relatively low average selling price, in fact, the figure is about 10% higher than in August. The company shipped over 1.3 million of mainboards, about 30% more compared to the previous month.

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) is likely to break its monthly record with shipments of 1.55 million to 1.6 million mainboards in September, from 7.6% to 11.1% more than in August; on the other hand their notebook, or better say desknote, shipments remained flat. The revenue of this computer components supplier achieved only $168.3 million since in general ECS sells pretty cheap devices. The month-on-month sales growth of ECS is 10%.

The second-tier manufacturers also performed rather well. Jetway Information, Acorp and Albatron earned $9.14, $6.26 and over $8.545 million respectively. Acorp even managed to climb up 35% in terms of product sales. Jetway information supplied its partners with about 141 thousands of mainboards and 6800 LCD monitors.

Given that the chipset makers, VIA and SiS, expect their shipments to grow in October (see this news-story), I think that mainboard makers will also enjoy great revenues this month. Nevertheless, all the IT-players are now quite conservative about November and December sales.
