A couple of days ago we told you that NVIDIA was going to launch another version of its nForce2 platform logic set for AMD Athlon XP processors with 400MHz FSB. Although the brand-name was not yet determined and there were still no material confirmations in regards any new chipsets coming out from NVIDIA, we called it as the nForce2 Ultra.

Today The Inquirer has published a logotype of the new nForce2 incarnation and I am pleased to say that we were almost right in guessing the name of the chipset: the babe is to be branded as the nForce2 Ultra 400!

NVIDIA will reportedly offer two chipsets with and without the GeForce4 MX graphics core and definitely with 400MHz FSB for Socket A processors and dual-channel PC3200 memory support later this Spring. We also expect new I/O controllers from NVIDIA to come with the nForce2 Ultra 400 (check this news-story for more details).

Be sure to glance on the original logotype straight from NVIDIA over here.
