Soltek has prepared another mainboard on violet PCB to entertain users of AMD Athlon XP processors. Today I learnt that the company will shortly launch its SL-KT600-RL mainboard based on the latest Socket A chipset from VIA Technologies.
Just like the eye-catching “Violet Eyes” series mainboards for Intel Pentium 4 and Celeron processors powered by i865PE/G and i875P chipsets, the SL-KT600-RL is made using a violet PCB (or is that red?), though, its memory and PCI slots are black and white respectively, not violet, as on “Violet Eyes” mainboards.

Here is what we got on this mainboard:
- Supports all Socket A Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron processors with 200, 266, 333 and 400MHz FSB, including Barton CPUs;
- VIA KT600 chipset with VT8237 I/O Controller;
- 3 DIMM slots for up to 3GB of PC1600, PC2100, PC2700 or PC3200 DDR SDRAM;
- 6 PCI and 1 AGP 8x slot;
- 2-channel integrated ATA-33/66/100/133 controller;
- 2 Serial ATA-150 ports with RAID support;
- 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet Adapter from VIA;
- 8 USB 2.0 ports;
- Integrated AC`97 6-channel audio solution;
- Overclocking and tuning functions, including CPU, memory, and AGP voltage adjustments, FSB overclocking;
- Hardware monitoring;
- ATX Form-factor.
The mainboard looks quite promising and will be available in retail shortly. Pricing information was not touched upon.
