Intel today officially unveiled the i845PE, i845GE and i845GV chipsets for the Pentium 4 platform and also declared PC1066 RDRAM support by the i850E core-logic based platforms. Although the official announcement date of the i845PE, i845GE and i845GV chipsets has been known for quite a long time already, we still have to bring this to you as a fact that has already happened.
All the newcomers and platforms that are based on them can take advantage of the Pentium 4 processors with the Hyper-Threading technology support. Mainboards that utilise the i845PE, i845GE, i845GV or the i850E should meet the latest guidelines from Intel to support the processors with 3.06 and 3.2GHz clock-speeds. Intel’s 845PE and i845GE offer PC2700 DDR SDRAM support and the only difference between them is the lack of graphics core in the former; the remaining i845GV is the advanced version of the not very successful i845GL that provides 533MHz Quad Pumped Bus, but still cannot offer us an AGP slot and works with slightly outdated PC2100 memory.<%BANNER[article]%>

Besides, Intel announced a lot of new mainboards that will be sold under the trademark of the company: D845GEBV2, D845PEBT2, D845PESV and D850EMVR in ATX form-factor, as well as their micro-ATX versions D845GERG2 and D845GVAD2. Please note that a lot of mainboards based on the newly revealed core-logic products appeared in Japanese retail this weekend with prices to range from $100 to $175 (see this news-story).
