Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation, the number two core-logic designer in Taiwan, announced monthly revenue for March 2003. The company indicated that sales for March are back to seasonal normality and exceed the results for the same period in previous years.

Revenues for the month ended this Monday achieved approximately $48 million based on the company's preliminary estimates. This is a 32% increase over March 2002, and an increase of 19% over February 2003, but still 8% below January’s level. The 2003 year-to-date revenue is estimated at $140 million, a 36% increase over the same period a year ago.

Just like VIA, the Hsinchu-based core-logic maker refused to go into details about its business for the month. All we know is that despite of tight manufacturing capacity and inability to fulfil certain orders, SiS still managed to sell more products than a month before.

There is also a pretty interesting fact to note: if a year ago the difference between SiS’ and VIA’s revenues were quite significant, this year the gap has shrunk and I will not be surprised if SiS soon outperforms VIA.
