Silicon Integrated Systems reported late last week its monthly sales results for November. The company declared both sequential and annual decline in sales as a yet another alarming trend for Taiwan-based chipset designers.
<%BANNER[article]%>SiS said its revenues for November 2003 were $41.54 million versus $46.03 million in October 2003. It is also 27.5% lower than for the same period last year. The 2003 year-to-date revenue is estimated at $462.83 million, a 8.9% increase over the same period a year ago.
Last week SiS’ rival VIA Technologies also reported sales results claiming significant declines in revenues over previous month and year. Looks like the same trend of decreasing revenues is also effective for SiS, who has been a bit more successful than VIA Technologies. It is also worth to note that sales of VIA and SiS are nearly equal, even though VIA still ships more products due to its very broad product portfolio.
Neither SiS nor VIA comment on their financial performance.
