Intel will continue to make its integrated graphics cores more popular with the introduction of Intel Extreme Graphics 2 core in the i865G-series of chipsets this year. Last quarter the market share of integrated core-logic products achieved 52% and the trend is that integrated graphics will only gain popularity, while the marked of discrete solutions will shrink in the course of next 12 to 24 months.

Currently there is no information about any peculiarities of the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 at the moment, but I think we may suppose dual-monitor support, DVI interface support and faster 3D-graphics engine, as these features are among indisputable advantages of add-in graphics cards as well as other integrated core-logic sets from ATI or NVIDIA. <%BANNER[article]%>

We will continue to investigate on the matter, so, stay tuned.
