Intel Corporation started to promote its Centrino brand today. The Santa Clara, California-based processor giant launched TV-advertising campaign named “Unwire” across 11 countries to highlight all the advantages the Centrino technology brings.

Centrino technology includes a new mobile processor, related chipsets and 802.11 wireless network (WLAN) capabilities that have been designed and tested to work together. In addition to wireless networking capabilities, Centrino mobile technology includes features designed to enable extended battery life, thinner and lighter notebook designs, and outstanding mobile performance. Centrino mobile technology will be introduced on March 12, as we told you in December 2002.

"Unwire" is the theme of the campaign's TV ads, which show businesspeople computing from their desks in unexpected places - such as a diving board, an airport "people mover," a golf course driving range and an open-air sightseeing bus - surrounded by crowds unaware of the odd presence of a desk un-tethered from its office. “Unwire” campaign includes various types of advertising, including, television, print, online and outdoor ads.

In short, if you happen to live in one of the 11 well-developed countries Intel mentions, be prepared to face Intel’s new advertising campaign till June.
