An inevitable thing has happened. After new Celeron CPUs with 0.13-micron Tualatin/256 die started shipping, old Celeron models with a 0.18-micron Coopermine/128 die lost their positions and will soon sink into oblivion.
Intel has officially announced the beginning of 0.18-micron Celeron (900MHz, 950MHz, 1GHz and 1,1GHz) rejection having closed the old cheap CPU line. Orders for retail versions of these CPUs are no longer accepted since January 14 of 2002. As for tray versions, the last orders will be accepted on May 3 of 2002 and the last shipments will be made on January 3 of 2002. Celeron (Coppermine-128) is dead, vive Celeron (Tualatin-256)!
