The first Banias model will come out in Q1 2003 and will work at 1.3GHz, and its successor will be called Dothan and will come out in Q4 2003. It will be manufactured with 0.09micron technology and will start at 1.8GHz core clock with 400MHz system bus and an impressive 2MB big L2 cache. It is interesting that following the good tradition Intel used another geographical name for its offspring, because there are at least two places in the world called Dothan: archeological dig in Israel and a town in Alabama, USA.
We would also like to add that Banias as well as Dothan are planned to be used with the new mobile chipsets from Intel aka Odem and Montara-GM, which will support PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM and use ICH4-M for the South Bridge. Montara-GM will feature an integrated graphics core, while Odem will support ADD-on cards. Odem is supposed to come out in Q1 2003 and Montara-GM – a quarter later.
As for the regular mobile Pentium 4M, it is going to last until Q3 2003 and is expected to reach 2.6GHz core clock ousting the mobile Pentium III from the market this way.
