According to some our Taiwanese sources, Hua Ching, a subsidiary of ASUSTeK Computer will start to offer its products to customers in October. As we reported earlier this year, Hua Ching was established in April this year to offer cheap mainboards primary for Chinese market under ASROCK brand-name.
Being targeted for cost-sensitive market, the company will offer mainboards based on chipsets from Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS). The first line of products will consist of SiS645, 645DX, SiS650 and SiS651 powered products. Later this year the company will also launch SiS648 core-logic based devices. These days Intel Pentium 4 / Celeron platform is much more popular compared to AMD Athlon XP, as a result, personal computer vendors as well as mainboard developers try to offer Pentium 4 based solutions first. Nevertheless, Hua Ching engineers also work on Socket A mainboards powered by SiS746 and 746FX. <%BANNER[article]%>
ASUS has made a pretty wise step with establishing a subsidiary to work in China and Asia. This market grows very dynamically and can be foreseen. Since all around the world the demand on personal computers and consumer’s electronics is lower than it was expected a couple of years ago, to have strong positions on Asian market is a critical task for computer component makers. For example, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) supplies cheap solutions for cost-sensitive market for pretty long time already, now First Tech (rather unsuccessful subsidiary of Foxconn Electronics) and Tyan Computer are also entering the market.
