UPDATE: Adding more product details, availability timeframe.

Club 3D, a European graphics card vendor, and S3 Graphics, a graphics processors designer, recently announced the release of a graphics card that is equipped with TV tuner in addition to HDTV and multimedia capabilities, targeting entry-level multimedia-enabled graphics card.

“The introduction of OmniChrome solutions in Europe by Club-3D is an important event for both our companies and further reinforces our commitment to supply the important European PC graphics market place with high quality, feature rich PC graphics products,” said Dr. Gerry Liu, VP of Marketing at S3 Graphics.

Club 3D OmniChrome S4 is based on S3 OmniChrome S4, a chip that is sometimes referred as DeltaChrome S4, clocked at 300MHz, is equipped with 128MB of 600MHz DDR memory, on-board 1216/1236ME TV tuner from Philips Electronics along with HDTV VIVO capabilities. Retail package will include a remote control and feature a software bundle that includes InterVideo’s latest revisions of WinDVR, WinDVD and WinDVD Creator.

The Club 3D OmniChrome S4 is likely to be positioned to serve entry-level market segment, where ATI currently offers its ALL-IN-WONDER 9200 and ALL-IN-WONDER 9200 SE products.

The S3 OmniChrome, or DeltaChrome S4, graphics processor is a cut-down version of the company’s DeltaChrome S8 Nitro chip that is designed to fulfill the needs of mainstream users. The lower-cost S4 product features 4 rendering pipelines, two times less compared to the S8 graphics chip, but still delivers advanced pixel and vertex shaders beyond DirectX 9.0 specs, certain memory bandwidth saving technologies, multi-display capabilities, 400MHz RAMDAC, integrated TV-Out controller, TMDS transmitter and so on, support for 480p / 720p / 1080i / 1080p HDTV resolutions via component (YPbPr) output, 480i standard TV output via S-video and composite output, programmable video engine and AGP 8x support.

Club 3D said that its OmniChrome S4 graphics cards is expected to emerge in stores in early October.
