EVGA, a well-known graphics cards supplier, said Tuesday it would soon release a GeForce 7950 GX2 graphics card with liquid-cooling system. The technology will allow the manufacturer to increase performance of the part to the unprecedented levels.

Nvidia’s GeForce 7950 GX2, positioned as the company’s top-of-the-range graphics cards, carries two GeForce 7900 graphics chips with 24 pixel processors, 8 vertex shader processors as well as 512MB of memory for each GPU. Each graphics processor is clocked at 500MHz, whereas memory functions at 1200MHz. The chips operate in SLI mode – thus giving such advantages as special SLI antialiasing modes – and communicate with each other using MIO-interface.

According to X-bit labs’ performance benchmarks, Nvidia GeForce 7950 GX2 is the fastest graphics card in the world, even though it has some limitations when it comes to mainboard compatibility.

Water-cooling system is likely to reduce noise levels produced by the GeForce 7950 GX2’s cooling fans and also is likely to allow the company to increase clock-speeds of the product, which will boost actual performance of the graphics card. Therefore, EVGA can declare the board as the fastest in the world.

The new graphics board from EVGA will belong to the family of Black Pearl graphics cards, which are the premium offerings from the company. Usually, the Black Pearl products come with water-cooling and increased clock-speeds. Typically, the price of the top products in the lineup approaches, orexceeds, the $1000 mark.

EVGA did not unveil any actual clock-speeds of its new GeForce 7950 GX2 Black Pearl edition and also did not provide any information regarding the price.
